"One must imagine Sisyphus happy" - Albert Camus

Sisyphus watches the boulder come to rest. It bounced funny this time.

Looking up, he gazes out over the ridgeline following it up into the sky. Sol is setting, and the stars awake. The day is done as the Moon takes another step.

He breathes in the majesty! Sharp eyes capture everything, from here he sees all of creation. His breathing slows, extending time.  10 breaths before the descent, the slower he breathes, the longer he has. Seconds become Ages. 1, 2, 3 … 10, then walk down. A sense of peace beyond any other. There is a gift in the suffering, you just need to find it and use it as a vessel to pull you through.

Like a clock, he keeps the rhythm flowing, another hard day complete, another day in this universe of being. It's tough, futile, often times absurd, but then remembering, Atlas never complains.

Perseverance wins. The struggle is always worth it, transforming  punishment into purpose. Embrace the Process and I’ve life completely and authentically, even when it seems pointless. Keep putting one step in front of the other, there is an infinity to enjoy between the seconds.
With this painting, I visualized Sisyphus's endeavor as the beating of a clock, each day another tik moving the moon another tok. Day after day. The world moves onward and all is right as rain.

When mortal, Sisyphus was seen by the Gods and one of the wisest and most prudent of humans, but he would steal their secrets and give them to humankind. For that, they thought to punish him in the afterlife. Little did they know the strength of his soul.

Sisyphus was never one to follow the rules, bend them to his will for what was necessary. Not in mischief, but what in need. He understood the importance of every task, and always drove his heart and focus into every single one.

His punishment was a necessity, someone had to do it, so he took it in stride.

As he descends through the night, awake he dreams, and in that time he can be and do whatever he desires. There's a universe inside his mind, and in those moments he can explore all corners of existence. And when he reaches the base with the morning light. He is refreshed having lived another life in the descent.

Time for coffee, and begin, again.

He is happy.
