BURST OF SPRING
Book 3, Chapter 7

Saraswati sits on a lotus blossom playing the song of creation on her Veena. Performing at the mouth of the river that once carried her name she sings inviting the return of Spring. Her consort, Brahma sits high in the mountains, eyes closed, only imaging creation, but that's as far as he can go. It is through Saraswati that creation manifests into the material realm.

Father = Pater = Pattern / Mother = Mater = Matter
The Universe is a dance of Matter and Pattern.

is the Hindu Goddess of the arts, music, language, culture, and education. She embodies creativity, wisdom, and the pursuit of all knowledge. In Western terms, she is a Muse for scholars, artists, musicians, and students driving them towards understanding, enlightenment, and awareness.

She has been revered as far back as the Harappan Civilization in the Indus Valley (3300-1300 BCE) and her river, the Saraswati, once believed to be a myth from the Vedas, was discovered by NASA from satellite when they found the dried up river bed in the location it was believed to have existed.

When I first painted this piece, I intended for it to be a more intimate performance and the head of Brahma was actually that of Saraswati. She was going to play on a small pond and in my initial research I was drawing her instrument from images I was finding on the internet, though most of them had her playing a Sitar, which is a smaller instrument play more in an upright position. I then had to repaint the entire composition giving her a proper Veena. In the repainting, I ended up expanding the composition with a concert for all the world.

The rainbow and text across the sky is that of the Kalachakra, though Buddhist, it carries the Devanagari Sanskrit and the elements emanating from the Temple of Sound. Though I am crossing the streams, these two traditions are connected and here it represents how far her song has vibrated into the realm.

On the left, in the mango tree, are Ajna and Yosef, the children from my painting Akashic Wormhole peeking into this painting along their adventure through the stories of Creation.
